Interesting theory you got there and I do think it is a plausible one

I was discussing his run with a couple co-workers around the water cooler this morning and proposed 2 theories this morning.

First Theory
Given that numbers seem to be meaningful to him when it comes to how much he wagers on a Daily Double or Final Jeopardy, maybe the #32 or his final earnings has significant meaning to him.

Second Theory
He eventually became bored with Jeopardy, so he was ready to do something else with his life. It is even possible he made some calculated decisions to ensure he lost the game.

My second theory led me to wonder about something. During his winning streak, has anyone placed bets on whether he would win or lose a particular game? If there has been any gambling on a Jeopardy show, then it is possible he or someone on his behalf could be placing bets on how he would do in a particular show.
